- In November Ben Weinstein will be our guest speaker.
- Pot luck dinner for very early December will no be at Alison Owen’s home.
- Thank you to Pat Clark for her 10,000 baht donation to QSCBC support group.
- Scholarship report from Khun Pattama shows she is still doing a superb job of mentoring all our students.
- Financial Report. By 20/09/09 we have over 3 million Baht in our bank account.
- Notice and online registration for the ‘Conference of Clubs’ on the Gold Coast from April 13 to 19, 2010. Go to www. siswp.org
- Thank you for everyone agreeing to add another 40,000 Baht to SI-Dusit’s donation, to Dr Kris on our PINK night, which was also matched by SI-Bkk.
- A big thank you to Alison/Maxine and their Acorn team, Pat and Sharon & also a team from SI-BKK club, who gave us a night to remember. 75 guests attended all wearing pink - wait for the story!
- ‘ART FROM INSIDE’, is beginning to really take shape as our major fund-raiser in Feb/2010. There have been so many meetings and hours of work, which have gone into this project by the main fund-raising committee. Jobs will soon be allocated as the need arises. Members should let Rose Marie and Khun Kanchana know if they wish to be a bus escort, etc Sponsors are also being sought, so if any members know of companies who wish to help….wonderful!
IN CONCLUSION:
As usual we keep on having changes to our committee. Helen Tantau, our secretary, sadly has to depart Thailand for China permanently. This has been bit of a shock to all of us to put it mildly.
Congratulations Helen on your new position, we can only wish you lots of love and all the best for another new phase in your life. Alison Owen has kindly offered to take over her position as Club-Secretary. I will be asking members to help Maxine with hospitality, meeting and greeting guests, taking the money for dinner etc.
Our ‘PINK” night in association with SI-BKK was so successful, that a decision has been made, to make this our theme for the ‘Combined Women’s Lunch 2010’. Sharon, Pat and Ann along with SI-BKK Club are already talking ideas and their enthusiasm is very contagious.
The Vivian Scholarship Fund is going to increase their student load and help a further 6 medical students…making a total of 16 medical students for THAILAND. (Anyone else leaving will be severely dealt with).
Love and best wishes to all, Kathy Barnett President,
Soroptimist International Club of Dusit
