Begin of December, twelve members of the Soroptimist International Club of Dusit went to visit the current scholarship students and those already graduated. We brought along lots of food and presents.

SI Dusit in Jungle Fever
What a way to 'finish off' the busy month of October.
Members of SI Dusit supported their sisters of the SI Bangkok Club
in their yearly scholarship fundraiser on Oct. 31, 2008.
This year's motto was 'Jungle Jive' and as the photo shows, the ladies seem to enjoy themselves.
Off to Sukhothai
A visit to Thailand’s ancient capital Sukhothai is always a trip worthwhile. No matter how often you visit, each time you discover something new to behold.
Bangkok Airways – longtime friends and supporters of SI Dusit’s charities – invited members of the club to an ‘inspection’ of their recently opened hotel and spa the ‘Sukhothai Heritage Resort’ Well, this was of course an understatement because the eight ladies enjoyed two days of – quote: royal treatment – unquote, from Oct. 23 to 25, 2008.
SI Thailand Clubs Meet
The Soroptimist Clubs of Thailand met on October 22, 2008 for a joint dinner and presentations of their activities. Participants were the Presidents, Immediate Past Presidents, Officers and Members of the SI Bangkok Club, SI Dusit and SI Chiang Mai.
Smart Beauty
'Smart Beauty' for today's busy and active women was the subject of the guest speaker at our October 14 business meeting.
We were happy to welcome Dr. Nantaput Supapannachart who is certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a founder of the well-known 'Apex Profound Beauty' salons.
As a dear friend we also welcomed Ms. Lorna Mead, Past President of the Federation of the Southwest Pacific. After the successful conference in Chiang Rai in June, Lorna enjoyed the Bangkok friends again.
Farewell and Welcome
It came as a surprise to everyone when Angelika Franzen announced that, after more than six years in the 'Land of Smiles', she would return to her native Germany. Only an 'official' SI Dusit-Member since last fall, Angelika contributed right from the beginning, and was instrumental in setting up our website. Of course we only let her go with the promise - and promise she did - that she will continue to take care of the updates, and stay in touch (...how can I not to?).
